It's based on the french expression which means "hangover", but that can be translated literally "wooden head".

Magnificent! the expression in the eyes, the action of shaving a wooden face... just terrific. Nice texturing and color as well.
The fogging effect on the outer edges of the painting really puts you in the subjects place looking into the mirror.

This is quite an intriguing piece. The coloring and detail alone is impressive, but the unsettling uncanny valley factor just makes it fascinating. Something about his expression, his shaving, the mechanical bits showing through the wood... Excellent job
