"This pic represents the R'yleh city in Lovecraft's books, made for the "spectacular" challenge on cgtalk." R'yleh by *MarcSimonetti is indeed an absolutely spectacular digital painting from the horror genre, with a surreal touch of Escher. ( Suggested by mynti and Featured by Thunderstatement )

Really cool, but I'm missing the "underseas" element.

This is an outstanding image. Any picture of R'yeh is automatically wrong (because of the non-Euclidean geometry), but this looks fantastic.

I am currently working on a website for a school project and it will contain some pictures. I want to ask if i may use one of your imagemore specific the one found here . It will be published on the internet but by its a school project it shall only be for studying purpose and nothing commercial. I will use the image as background for one of pages on the site and I found it fiting to that content. It will serve as background image on a site regarding a musician. If i am allowed to edit may I then resize it and add a title on it? I will post a link to your site and put your name at the bottom of the page.

Yes,

There's no problem at all, as long as my name and website is quoted.

Best,

Marc

Wow. You really captured the feeling of "wrong" geometry, or "weird" architecture that Lovecraft describes in the book. That, and the latent sort of terror rising up from the depths of the ancient city. Just wow.
